In 1921, Tehliryan took part in the Nemesis operation of Dashnaktsutyun party, receiving the task of killing the main organizer of the Armenian Nation Genicide - Talaat Pasha. On the morning of March 15, 1921, near the house No. 4 on Hardenberg Street in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg, he discovered and shot in front of many witnesses (with a Parabellum Luger P08 pistol) the former Turkish Grand Vizier Talaat Pasha, who was hiding in Germany under the name Sey. After the murder, Tehliryan was arrested by the German authorities. Tehliryan's trial and his acquittal has become a sensation. The subject of the court discussion was not only Tehliryan's attack, but also Talaat's previous actions as the organizer of the brutal massacres of civilians. Numerous witnesses were heard at the trial, who told the details of the genocide. They shocked the public. This trial had a profound effect on Polish lawyer Rafael Lemkin, who later coined/created the term "genocide." On June 2, 1921, German court found him not guilty and released him. Tehliryan was defended by three lawyers/avdocated , one of whom was Dr. Theodor Niemeyer, a law professor at Kiel University; the second was Adolf von Gordon (Legal Adviser);

Khor Virap means deep prison, located at 20 km from the biblical Mount Ararat with a height of 5165 m above the sea level. On that mountain, according to the Bible, after the great flood, Noah's Ark stood. After imprisoning Gregory the Illuminator in an underground prison, King Trdat fell ill with incurable diseases, his face turned into a pig's snout. Gregory the Illuminator was kept in that pit for about 13 years, he was released by the king's order, he healed the king, after that in 301 the whole Armenian nation, led by King Trdat, converted to Christianity and was baptized. Then a monastic complex is built on that prison, which served as the residence of the Catholicos. Khor Virap was built in 642 by Catholicos Nerses III the Builder, in the place of old capital Artashat, which was int 180 BC. It has been reconstructed and enlarged many times over the centuries. The underground pit is located at a depth of 6 meters from the ground, on which St. Gregory's Chapel is built, not far from is St. Astvatsatsin Church, which was built in the 17th century. In 1921, Tehliryan took part in the Nemesis operation of Dashnaktsutyun party, receiving the task of killing the main organizer of the Armenian Nation Genicide - Talaat Pasha. On the morning of March 15, 1921, near the house No. 4 on Hardenberg Street in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg, he discovered and shot in front of many witnesses (with a Parabellum Luger P08 pistol) the former Turkish Grand Vizier Talaat Pasha, who was hiding in Germany under the name Sey. After the murder, Tehliryan was arrested by the German authorities. Tehliryan's trial and his acquittal has become a sensation. The subject of the court discussion was not only Tehliryan's attack, but also Talaat's previous actions as the organizer of the brutal massacres of civilians. Numerous witnesses were heard at the trial, who told the details of the genocide. They shocked the public. This trial had a profound effect on Polish lawyer Rafael Lemkin, who later coined/created the term "genocide." On June 2, 1921, German court found him not guilty and released him. Tehliryan was defended by three lawyers/avdocated , one of whom was Dr. Theodor Niemeyer, a law professor at Kiel University; the second was Adolf von Gordon (Legal Adviser);

Khor Virap means deep prison, located at 20 km from the biblical Mount Ararat with a height of 5165 m above the sea level. On that mountain, according to the Bible, after the great flood, Noah's Ark stood. After imprisoning Gregory the Illuminator in an underground prison, King Trdat fell ill with incurable diseases, his face turned into a pig's snout. Gregory the Illuminator was kept in that pit for about 13 years, he was released by the king's order, he healed the king, after that in 301 the whole Armenian nation, led by King Trdat, converted to Christianity and was baptized. Then a monastic complex is built on that prison, which served as the residence of the Catholicos. Khor Virap was built in 642 by Catholicos Nerses III the Builder, in the place of old capital Artashat, which was int 180 BC. It has been reconstructed and enlarged many times over the centuries. The underground pit is located at a depth of 6 meters from the ground, on which St. Gregory's Chapel is built, not far from is St. Astvatsatsin Church, which was built in the 17th century.
