In 1991, the Autonomous Republic of Artsakh leaves the Soviet Union, and at the same time, the independent Republic of Azerbaijan tries to carry out ethnic cleansing, ecocide, and depopulate Artsakh, as they did during the 1917 Armenian Genocide and the 1990 Sumgait pogroms.


However, the people of Artsakh chose the path of independence and started fighting against the armed forces of Azerbaijan, police and gangs.
